Technology

BlackChili
The BlackChili compound is produced exclusively at Continental's plant in Korbach, Germany, and combines the latest polymers with carbon black particles and specially developed filler materials. Both cars and bicycles benefit from this technology. Mounted on a bicycle, tires with BlackChili provide cyclists with excellent reliability, whether in downhill racing on a mountain bike or in time trials on a road bike.

Apex
Used successfully in car tires for years, its transition to bicycle tires was only a matter of time. A natural rubber profile sandwiched between the casing layers at the base of the tire stiffens the sidewalls, minimizing tire twisting due to high transverse loads. Stiffer sidewalls which, in turn, reduce the risk of punctures and prevent the tire from slipping off the rim. At low pressure, grip is improved without becoming too sluggish in cornering. The risk of punctures decreases significantly.
