The Touareg is designed to enjoy every second of the off-road adventure while maintaining strong performance upon tarmac. The worldwide versatility of the Touareg is in part thanks to the continued development in the architecture of its knobs. The smaller and more compact small-blocks contribute to comfort and performance, on both rough terrain and smooth tarmac.
 
127 TPI casing & Hardskin reinforcement
The Touareg tyre is made with a 127 tpi casing, an optimal option when looking for high-performance. Flexible and light, it helps to produce high rolling performance. This new gravel tyre is also reinforced with the Hardskin textile grid from bead to bead. In addition to the rubber thickness, the Hardskin reinforcement offers additional protection against sharp stones, rocks and any other hostile material found on rough gravel terrain. This mountabike reinforcement has been thoroughly proven on XC Marathon races.

• Numerous knobs provide multiple contact points with the ground to provide consistent performance.
• The intermediate smaller knobs are distributed further apart than those on the central part, helping to contribute to better grip and confidence when cornering.
• The tread with its « chevron » shape comes from Hutchinson’s XC background and shares DNA with the Skeleton and Kraken tyres. The knobs are more compact on the Touareg though, optimising performance even on very rough terrain.
• The side knobs of the Touareg are similar to that of the Skeleton’s design. They are linked in pairs to save weight. Their « buttresses » run down the wall to strengthen the structure during distortion and reinforce the grip.

Hardskin
Get full-coverage flat protection with Hardskin. Originally created for mountain bike tires, this hardy fabric grid layer is integrated into the casing to fend off punctures and cuts from sharp objects. Bead-to-bead coverage means you’re protected on the sidewalls as well as the tread, but it won’t change that sweet Hutchinson ride quality you love.
