Maxxis Rekon 3C Maxx Terra EXO+ tubeless ready WT 29" tyre

Aggressive plus tyre inspired by the Ikon

The Rekon is an aggressive trail tyre inspired by the Ikon for intermediate and technical terrain. Wide knobs down the middle provide control under braking and L-shaped side knobs assure support when carving loose turns. With confidence like this you can race more and scout less with the Rekon.

WT - Wide Trail

Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tyre's tread layout and profile on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tyre profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimized for a 35 mm inner rim width, but are proven to work over a range from 30-35 mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider's preference.

TR-Tubeless Ready

Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. The square bead profile of the TR tyres is designed to work with the broad range of tubeless rims available on the market today. Maxxis's TR tyres use a special construction which allows the use of liquid sealants to make them airtight and to help prevent punctures. If needed, Maxxis TR tyres can also be used with an inner tube.

Exo+ Protection

A new EXO+ construction combines two of the best puncture protection materials: SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer runs from bead-to-bead with a layer of EXO along the sidewalls. Combined, these two materials create EXO+ which improves tread puncture protection by 27%; sidewall durability by 51%; and resistance to pinch flats by 28%.

3C MaxxTerra

An intermediate compound configuration used in selec mountain tyres. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better tradwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip.
