Salice 006 eyewear replacement lens

Salice is at the forefront in research and safety

Photochromic lenses, antifog lenses, mirrored or antiglare, these are some of the countless technologies used by Salice Occhiali to protect your eyes.

Technologies

UV400
All lenses are UV400: they stop ultraviolet radiations. Our single lenses is acetate and they are available in different colours to guarantee the best vision in all the weather conditions.

RW (Rainbow)
Polycarbonate antiscratch Rainbow lens undergoes an exterior “multicoating” colouring. This process reduces light blinding due to glaring surfaces (water, snow and ice) and enhances its filtering power. The UV400 factor guarantees best ultraviolet rays protection.

Photochromic (CRX)
Photochromic  lenses  contain  photosensitive  substances  which  modify their chemical structure according to the light intensity. The basic colour is clear and becomes darker when the sunlight is deeper, and quickly lightens when the light drops. You can pass from the shadow to a bright area and back always wearing the sunglasses.

IR (Infrared)
For best eye protection against optical radiations you have our new technical lens IR Infrared.
Optical radiation damages on the eyes are due to their wavelength and power. Radiations are ultraviolet UV light (length: 100-380 nm) , visible light (length: 380-780 nm) and infrared IR-A light (length 780 m-1 mm). IR lens totally stops the absorption of UV lights (UV-A. UV-B, UV-C), cause of several diseases (cataract, retina degeneration and photokeratoconjunctivitis). It stops blue light absorption (380-550 nm) one of the cause of photoretinitis. It stops the absorption of infrared IR-A rays, which cause heat damage on eyes, cataracts, damages on retina and cornea and keratocongiuntivitis. IR lens guarantees a clear vision and best depth; protection cat. 2.

Polarized (Polarflex)
Human eye cannot separate the horizontal rays from the vertical rays composing the light. Polarized lens contains a special “polarizing filter” which absorbs the horizontal rays, responsible of glare and image distortions, and keeps the vertical rays only. Polarized lens assures the best vision, the right colours and contrast perception and a bigger comfort, as it absorbs the glares that normally strain the eye.

Mirror Photochromic (RWX)
The RWX by NXT® lens has got both high-tech and fashion features. Powered by the state-of-the-art photochromic technology, it provides the right level of protection when needed as it adapts instantly to the light environment. From bright sun to sunset, the lens protects your eyes from 100% of the UV rays. The photochromic molecules are directly embedded in the mass of the polymer and confined close to the front surface. Therefore, it guarantees durably optimal photochromic control. In particular, the RWX by NXT® lens includes fast kinetics such as activation and fading speed. RWX by NXT® lens is versatile with its large photo range: from category 1, when not activated, in environments and weather conditions with low light, to category 3, when activated, in bright conditions. In addition to its technical features, the RWX by NXT® lens will also magnify your look! From subtle gloss, while non activated, to intense blue aspect in bright conditions, it brings colour differentiation. Note that this mirror coating contributes to protect from glare and reduce eye fatigue. The oleophobic front-side coating prevents scratches, smudges, fingerprints, dust and water on the external surface of the lens. Thus, decreasing the discomfort from fog droplets or light rain as the surface is sliding allowing to move forward in the activity in mixed weather. At last, to keep the lens gloss and neat, it also minimises the risk to damage the colour coating as cleaning is facilitated.
