Shimano Ultegra RD-RX800 GS 11S rear derailleur

With the diversification of road cycling and the growth of gravel and multi-surface riding, Shimano introduces Ultegra RX, rear derailleurs with chain stabilizing technology that further the versatility of the Ultegra R8000 drivetrain. The RD-RX800 rear derailleur, for mechanical and electronic Di2 systems respectively, utilizes Shimano’s proven Shadow RD+ derailleur technology that has been adapted and tuned for road drivetrains and riding conditions.

Riders continue pushing road bike capabilities, evolving the sport from racing to encompass greater elements of adventure and including a broader range of riding styles. In a natural evolution, RX800 expands the potential of Ultegra R8000, combining chain stabilizing features with the same performance characteristics of Shimano’s most versatile performance road drivetrain.

The Shimano RD-RX800 rear derailleur features Shimano Shadow RD+ technology and precise accurate shifting, but with the added chain stabilizing switch to control the drivetrain over rough or uneven ground. Much like Shimano’s mountain bike derailleurs, the On/Off switch can be found next to the upper pulley. When activated the rear derailleur pivot takes a firm hold to reduce excessive movement, noise and general "chain chatter".

Tecnology

Shadow RD
Traditional derailleurs extend wider than the profile of your bike. With its low profile design, Shadow RD is a more compact derailleur that fits closer to the frame, with more direct cable routing. Shadow RD maintains a consistent distance to the cassette for increased shift stability. The reduced body width creates a sleek and smooth appearance, ensuring less damage in a crash.
