Mavic Cosmic SLR 65 Carbon UST Disc Centerlock front wheel

The Cosmic name has always been synonymous with speed and performance. This 65mm version for disc brakes is no exception, and it’s the fastest of the family when it comes to hammering the flats and in the wind.

The 65mm deep airfoil rim slices through the wind with minimal drag, and its 26mm wide profile makes it highly stable in crosswind. It also uses the patented elliptical spokes that save another 5 watts to maximize your efficiency.
Another key factor in efficiency is rolling resistance, which Mavic address with the updated UST Road Tubeless system that makes it easier than ever to mount and change tires. No tube means no friction, and more air volume means a smoother, faster ride. Exclusive Fore Carbon technology attaches the spokes to the rim without the need to drill the upper rim bed. With the new rim bed shape, no tape is needed, eliminating any hassles and saving 30g per rim.
Mavic further lowered the weight of the rim with a new laminate and local reinforcement.

Technologies

Fore Carbon tapeless tubeless technology
Stiffer and stronger. Instead of drilling the rim to attach the spokes and nipples, a threaded metallic insert is wrapped inside the carbon layups of the lower rim bridge to enable the spoke nipples to be directly screwed in it. As a result, the upper rim bridge is left undrilled and doesn't require the use of a rim tape to be sealed.

UST tubeless technology
Traction and control. Universal Standard for Tubeless. Ready to ride tubeless system. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort whilst reducing inertia and flats.

QRM Auto bearing preload technology
Qualité de Roulements Mavic Auto. The latest innovation from the french brand. Those cartridge bearings are of course double sealed with C3 internal clearance. Their preload is automatically adjusted to guarantee a perfect spin with no play on the long run.
