Technologies
3C MaxxTerra
An intermediate compound configuration used in selec mountain tyres. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better tradwear and less rolling resistance than Maxx Grip.
TR-Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. The square bead profile of the TR tires is designed to work with the broad range of tubeless rims available on the market today. Maxxis's TR tires use a special construction which allows the use of liquid sealants to make them airtight and to help prevent punctures. If needed, Maxxis TR tires can also be used with an inner tube.
WT - Wide Trail
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tire's tread layout and profile on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35 mm inner rim width, but are proven to work over a range from 30-35 mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider's preference.
Exo+ Protection
EXO+ is Maxxis' mid-range puncture protection option for all types of trails and lightweight e-bikes. It starts with a durable 60 TPI casing, adds the legendary EXO puncture protection layer on the sidewalls and is completed with a small butyl insert around the bead. The tough casing and EXO material prevent damage from rocks and roots, while the butyl insert protects the tyre from punctures and helps prevent damage to the rim.
