The WG11 rotational impact test is a protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of the helmets against rotational impacts.

Technologies

Triple in Mold Construction
In-Mold technology allows us to cast the external polycarbonate outer shell directly during the injection stage of the expandable polystyrene (EPS) impact-absorbing foam. The result is a much more rigid structure which is knock-resistant and extremely light, allowing for better ventilation system. The combined action of the EPS structure, the polycarbonate cap and exo-skeleton creates resistance to the mechanical action exercised by an impact and dissipates the energy in order to prevent it from being transferred to the head of the person wearing the helmet.

RSR 10 Retention System
The lightweight yet resistant RSR 10 adjustable retention system provides perfect personal fit. thanks to its wraparound structure and multiple micro-metric vertical and horizontal positions for the size adjustment.

WG Rotational
At Rudy Project, they are committed to develop products aimed at the highest level of safety, exceeding requirements set by international standards, such as the CE or CPSC norms. Today their goal is to go even further by overpassing a new experimental testing protocol based on real accident datas and scientific sources. The Rudy Project WG11 rotational impact test is a protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of the helmets against rotational impacts. The Rudy Project WG11 “pass-fail” criterion is based on the BRIC (Brain Injury Criterion) value, an algorithm that defines the level of brain injury. This value must be less than 0,68. Several studies in fact showed that concussive values of BRIC for humans varied from 0.60, when scaled directly from animal data, to 0.68 when obtained directly from college football players.
