Specialized Epic WC Pro

Specialized Epic WC Pro - Think faster

The new Epic World Cup is the fastest XC bike on flowing trails, thanks to an unmatched combination of efficiency, control, and light weight. Champion Christopher says: "This bike gives me everything I could want from a hardtail, with the added control and capabilities of a full-size." To create this race machine Specialized took a fully integrated development approach, inventing an entirely new shock absorber, thanks in part to four decades of victories on the off-road racing stage.

The Epic World Cup with Ride Dynamics Developed Suspension Technology has 75mm of travel on the rear wheel. Thanks to this new technology, uphill pedalling is very efficient and will not let you down on the most demanding descents. The SRAM XO drivetrain is high-performance and robust, perfect for XC race courses. SID SL fork with Brain, 110mm travel. Roval Control carbon wheels with hookless design and 29mm inner width. They are strong, light and offer perfect ride quality.

To achieve maximum speed through perfect power transfer efficiency and an ultra-precise ride, the Specialized engineering team set the new standard in terms of torsional stiffness and bottom bracket. The double-diamond layout is the most sophisticated in Specialized's history, and supports the stiffness objective by integrating the shock as a structural element.

Fast suspension
The Specialized Ride Dynamics team developed a revolutionary technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and responsiveness of a hardtail, and in addition the control and capability of a full frame. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) shock with independently adjustable positive and negative air springs gives the Epic WC the coveted "snap" of a hardtail, combined with a lightness that devours the terrain and provides the ability to adjust the set up to suit a specific route or personal preference.

Beyond its category
The Epic World Cup's 75mm of travel feels like so much more. When the bike is ridden in firm mode, it offers the same amount of positive travel as a bike with 100mm travel set at a sag of 25%. Optimised air volume and damping characteristics allow the Epic WC to handle shocks like a bike with more generous travel. The dedicated MegaJounce pad provides robust end-stroke support to handle the most violent impacts.

Brain
While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock provides the perfect mix of absorption and firmness on the rear suspension, in the fork the BRAIN is alive and well, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15mm of sag, with no lockout or levers to operate.

Lightness
With a frame weighing only 1765 grams (painted, with shock absorber and small parts), the Epic World Cup is the lightest on the market. This lightness translates into explosive acceleration, climbs with maximum efficiency, and amazing handling. The sum of these characteristics is speed. Specialized engineers were able to design a frame so light and so stiff thanks in part to what they learned in the design of the Aethos, particularly with regard to the carbon layup.

Seatpost
The Epic World Cup comes with the new ultra-light and stiff Roval Control SL seatpost.
