Granturismo SLR is the racing bike designed to maximise the relationship between performance and comfort. With Granturismo SLR you can cover many kilometres while minimising posture stress thanks to the special endurance geometries and the Actiflex 2.0 system, a revamped version of the micro rear shock absorber developed in 2017 for Cento10 NDR.

Actiflex 2.0
The heart of the Granturismo SLR is the Actiflex 2.0 vibration damping system, which allows the rear wheel to have up to 5mm of vertical travel. Version 2.0 is an update of the Actiflex found on the Cento10 NDR, a bike that won the Eurobike Award in 2017 and the Reader's Award from the prestigious Tour Magazin magazine in 2018.

New design, greater efficiency
If on the vertical plane Actiflex 2.0 makes the Granturismo SLR soft and comfortable, torsional stiffness and reactivity are guaranteed with values very close to those of Wilier's competition bikes thanks to the bridge on the chainstays and the new positioning of Actiflex near the seat tube/horizontal tube intersection. In the redesign of Actiflex, one of the main objectives was the search for maximum integration in the frame, not only for an aesthetic factor but as a functional matter. In the new position, Actiflex is sheltered from dirt, mud, sand, rain: an ideal solution to allow the four bearings to work smoothly and without giving any thought to future maintenance. If necessary, Actiflex 2.0's disassembly operations are facilitated by the double-screw locking system.

Two types of elastomer
The rear wheel travel is regulated by an elastomer made of viscoelastic material. On models equipped with Dura Ace Di2 12V and Sram Red AXS, the elastomer is replaced with a 3D-printed adaptive grid version, a solution that saves an additional 20 grams to the overall frame weight.

Racing comfort geometries
Frame geometries play a fundamental role when we talk about Endurance bikes. In order to guarantee the highest level of racing and comfort we have to consider different proportions between the frame tubes. A slightly shorter position (the reach is smaller compared to bikes with traditional racing geometries) and a higher position (a larger stack compared to racing geometries). This combination of reach & stack allows us to have a comfortable position without using any spacer between the stem and the frame. How often do we see cyclists riding pure racing bikes with several centimetres of spacer at the headset? With the Granturismo SLR the look of the bike will be harmonious, well-proportioned, balanced and at the same time racing.

High-end carbon
The carbon mix of the Granturismo SLR is HUS-MOD integrated with Liquid Crystal Polymer, the special fibre used between the carbon links that adds elasticity in the vertical plane and at the same time increases torsional stiffness. This solution is also widely used on high-end products such as Filante SLR and Wilier 0 SLR.

Aerodynamics also in the Endurance world
When we talk about long distances, we talk about many hours spent in the saddle. Even if with the Granturismo SLR we're not looking for maximum performance for competitions, it's clear that even on a bike of this type aerodynamics has its importance. Even a small tweak and improvement, in the economy of many hours in the saddle, can save you several watts. To do this Wilier has borrowed several features from the Filante SLR (the aero bike for competition). In addition to the optimised tube section, consideration was given to the very wide fork head, the use of integrated monocoque handlebars, and the total integration of cables.

Wheel passage
Having a wide fork head allows not only to benefit in terms of aerodynamics, but also to have a generous wheel passage. The Granturismo SLR allows the installation of wheels with a maximum tyre width of 32 mm, which is perfect for this modern bike with endurance DNA.

Removable derailleur support
The derailleur support is removable, as on the Rave SLR. In the not too distant future there is a belief that the use of 1x groupsets will become more and more established even on road products not used for competition. In the case of a 1x groupset, the derailleur support is replaced with a flat plate to keep the look clean even without the front derailleur.

Carbon monocoque handlebar
The Granturismo SLR uses the monocoque handlebar that we usually mount on our flagship uphill bike, the Wilier 0 SLR. 0 Bar has an ergonomic, rounded grip that is less demanding than the corresponding aero Filante bar and fits perfectly to the frame thanks to the shims, which are the same as those used on the Filante SLR. The monocoque 0 Bar handlebar allows the brake and control cables to be housed and routed inside the frame, hiding them from air friction and giving the Granturismo SLR a clean and essential design, typical of Wilier Triestina's high-end products. It must be said that Granturismo SLR is however compatible with all monocoque and modular handlebars produced by Wilier Triestina.

Easy-Fit spacers
The spacers interposed between the head tube of the frame and the handlebar are made of a high-rigidity composite material, with a special cavity dedicated to cable routing. They are composed of two parts so that they can be assembled and disassembled quickly, without interfering with the cables that run between the handlebar and frame.
